Half a year old...cannot believe it?!

Hey everyone it is hard to believe it is already time for another update which means another month that has flown by! Kate is now 6 months old and after this month we are now on the downhill slide to her 1st birthday..I just can't believe literally how time flies when you have a child...

how can you say "no" to that cute face?!

LOVE this outfit!

She is SO much fun and is growing and changing all the time. We had a well visit with our pediatrician on the 7th of this month and it went good. She now weighs over 16lbs and is right 25 inches long. The doctor told us she needed to spend a little more time on her tummy because she still isn't rolling over, but that will come soon. I know she could if she truly wanted to because she goes from side to side. However she is sitting up all by herself now. When I walk away I have a pillow surrounding her just in case she falls but I do feel confident enough to walk away :) so right now to me she is at the perfect stage...can sit and play but not move from the spot I put her, haha!

"Hi, nice to meet you my name is Kate"

You can see how she feels about tummy time

She has really started noticing her toys and right now out of all of the ones she has here she prefers her top that spins and will pick that one out in the middle of a bunch of other toys. She is so smart and loves for me to read to her. She is really starting to use her hands also. Kate loves to talk, imagine that ;) She is always making some kind of noise and has now said her first word...dada dada da da and squeals so much but she is also learning that when she doesn't like something she will holler and continue to get louder. If you don't pay attention then she will finally start crying but that is how she is beginning to protest. She knows that she is only suppose to be in her high chair to eat so if she is in it any longer then she begins to protest.
We are broadening her taste buds. She has done the greens and yellow vegetables and now we are moving to fruit. She loves bananas and that so far has been her favorite. She is drinking from sippy cups and the one she has mastered is the cup with a straw. But she still is very adamant that she is NOT going to take a bottle of ANY sort believe me we have tried. I am perfectly fine with that now because as fast as the first part of year has gone the second half is going to go faster!
Well Kate has her 2 bottom teeth. It was like they decided here we come and in 2 restless nights of sleep she got them. It is so crazy how much that makes her look older but they are so adorable!
Funny face!

This was right after the 2 restless nights of sleep...they have actually come in more since this!

Kate loves her bathtub time and as of about 2 weeks ago she is in the big bathtub. Since she loves her bath so much Drew and I decided we thought it would be fun to have a pool, mainly for us lol
So we put up an above ground pool at the beginning of this month and she has got to go swimming which she seems to really like. We just have limited times to go swimming since she is so fare complected but we did get a canopy to shade some of it.

just had a nice warm bath

such a happy baby
I also had a birthday this month..yep the big 25 and the only reason I am saying this is because you have to see the cute card *Kate* ;) gave me and the wonderful birthday breakfast I received!
yummy breakfast! Pancakes, fruit, and bacon!

My b-day card from Kate...It say "it is strange to me I don't remember you having a birthday before. I luve yoo mom ,you are good two me..<3

Right now we are battling a bad cold. I had it first and bless her heart now she has it. It is no fun having a sick baby because they are so helpless. I have learned a few tricks though to make things better as she sleeps like raising one end of her mattress so she can breathe at night. I am sure that as the years pass I will learn more tricks also.

This next weekend we are going to Dallas because one of my brothers is going to be there and we want to go see him. We are super excited about that coming up. Also the fourth of July is around the corner and I can't wait to see what Kate thinks about fireworks. Then on the 7th and 8th Kate will attend her first women's retreat with me. I am so excited about the fellowship and growth that is to come! I think that is about it for now it is time for some pictures and videos!!

Blessings!!

5 months today!

I cannot believe how fast time seems to be passing. I know people always used to tell me that as you get older time passes faster. I just can't imagine how much faster it could pass?! This has been a month filled with all kinds of adventures for the Little family :)
We decided to take our first family vacation. It was SO much fun! We went for a couple of nights to stay with some friends in Houston and then went onto Galveston for a few days. Kate did amazing! Our friends have dogs and for the first time Kate just busted up laughing at them. I don't know if it was because it scared her and that was her reaction or because she just thought they were funny. But we could never get her to do it again for the camera. However, she was very interested in them.
Also, our friends took us to an aquarium restaurant to eat. Kate loved all the fish so while we were in Galveston we visited the Moody Garden's Aquarium. This is where they have tunnels of aquariums you can walk under and she LOVED it. I got a couple of videos I will load onto my youtube page so you can watch them.  As for the drive, I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful she did. We are truly blessed with a happy and content little girl! I will say I do feel like I had to pack my entire house just for a little less than a week away, crazy! I was so tired of moving things around and when it was time to come home we were all ready. Isn't it funny how when you start a vacation you can't leave town fast enough but when you are coming home it takes FOREVER! We really enjoyed our much needed family time.

we were eating breakfast talking about daddy :)

Another adventure we had was starting Kate on some solids, yay! It was just time and she was letting me know it. She is eating some veggies and her first one was squash. She liked it but she loves carrots even more! Today for the first time we tried sweet potatoes and that was a hit also. She is now in her little routine of eating breakfast, lunch, and supper but when I say this her main source is definitely still the nursing. It is so much fun though putting her in her high chair and feeding her right along the side of us eating too.

She has really started talking and she is also discovering hearing herself scream. It is the funniest thing and definitely very expressive.  I love it because there is no longer much silence in the house, car, or anywhere we are because she wants to make noise and talk. She is little miss social too, haha.
Kate has been to her first baby shower and wedding this month as well. She did wonderful at both and we had so much fun. I got to say it is alot of fun being able to dress her up from head to toe :) She got to meet lots of people for the first time and it was a sweet time for all of us!

Summer and Miss Kate-she was hungry and tired :(

It is amazing how much you can love one little person and when I see her smile or make her laugh all I want is to hear or see over and over again. One of my friends gave me an article about when a mother sees her child "smile". It talked about how when a mother sees her child smile there a reaction that happens within the mother that releases a chemical or hormone that makes you feel "high". They compared it to drugs, praise,  and several other things. All I can say is I think it is right on because there is absolutely nothing better than hearing my baby laugh or seeing her smile. I will act goofy and do silly things just to achieve that goal :).

She is getting so big. I have changed out her clothes size already again. She is mainly in 6-9 months now. We don't go to the doctor again until the 7th of June but I think she weighs probably 14 or 15lbs by now and I know she is about 25 or 26 in long. I look back at pictures of when she was first born and it is crazy how much she has changed in her looks and how tiny she used to be. Sometimes when I look at her I see her daddy but sometimes I see me. It is so crazy but she honestly does look like a little of both of us. Her hair is coming in thicker and we can't quite tell if it is going to be the same color. So on that note Drew cut a piece of her hair because he wanted to save the red just in case it didn't come back in that color, haha. This is the same person who while I was pregnant did not want the baby to look like him or have red hair. We all know how he feels about that now...I love the Lord's sense of humor!

having fun in my jumper at nana's

so tired

Kate is starting to sit up on her own very well. I keep a pillow around her just for safety but she has really gotten to where she does not want to be laying down at all. I won't leave her by herself yet because she still has some improving to do but she will be all on her own VERY soon. She still isn't really rolling over yet but she kicks her legs so much that gets her from one place to another...haha

And last but not least she was dedicated today on her grandma's birthday. She did amazing and I know that we did not have to have her physically dedicated for her to be the Lord's because she is already His. It is just something we wanted to do. She did really good while our Pastor held her and prayed for her and us in raising her. I just cannot imagine being a mommy without the Lord's guidance and I am SO thankful I have His word to lead me and turn too when I need instruction. We continue to pray for her on a daily basis that she will grow to know and understand the Lord with her ways remaining pure.
I knew when we named her that it was important. Kate means "pure" and I so often think about what the scripture says..."Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God" I pray that is her relationship with Him as she grows.

She did so good

Alright well at the beginning I told you we had alot of adventures this past month and now I think I have covered all or most of them anyway. Well prayers and blessings out to you guys! Keep checking out our videos on youtube because I will be uploading some new one this week!

Just shy of 4 months...

At the Sulsar Crawfish boil
daddy & Kate
Wow, what a month?! So many things have happened and she is growing sooo fast!! Let's see, Kate is now laughing and squealing in delight mainly at her mommy, but really starting to do it with everyone! She is such a doll and I am having SO much fun being able to stay at home with her and watching her grow. She is really starting to teeth now. It has caused tons of drool and some really spastic chomping movements, which are really funny. We went to the doctor a week ago and she is weighing 12lbs 13oz and is about 24 inches long now.  The doctor said she was a little early on her verbal skills. My reply was well look at her parents, :)...we both like to talk!  We also had to get her first round of shots and let me just say, NOT FUN! She was so upset that she was screaming and shaking. I didn't tear up until I talked to Drew about it, so sad. :(

Anyway, she is really grabbing onto things now and the first thing that she tries to do is put it in her mouth. I can see dimly what ours future holds...cleaning the floors EVERY day. : / She is really starting to get a routine now. She wakes up anywhere from 8 to 9am takes a nap about 11:30 or so and then again about 4. She goes to bed around 8:30 in the evening. I know we are truly blessed with a wonderful little girl and no our next is NOT going to be the polar opposite, haha...that seems to be what everyone says when I say she is wonderful!
I got her a pair of sunglasses and she loves them. However, she is so fair complected and her eyes are light so that sun is really bright and she needs them so that probably has a little to do with it. Also we have tried rice cereal several times and she seems to do ok with it but I think I will just hold off a little while longer before I start her on anything. She is just so content with the way things are right now and sleeps so well, why mess that up?! It will only be about another 6 to 8 weeks before she actually starts eating baby food. anyway :( I can't believe time is passing SO fast!
in my new shades!
She loves to be outside. We will go outside in the backyard so she can swing and as long as she has a hat and sunglasses we are good for a while! I think some of my favorites times are getting her up after she wakes up either in the morning or from a nap because she is ALL smiles and talking! She is just little miss social that is for sure. I love to just watch her and I am reminded all the time how awesome the Lord is!

Well as of now we are going to visit her new little cousin Jessica the first week of May. I am so excited about seeing them and going on our first family vacation as the 3 of us.

That is about it for now...I added a youtube bar to my blog so you can watch the videos I upload of Miss Kate and you can watch her grow too! Let me know if you are having problems viewing them.
Well she is up from her nap that is it for now...

Blessings~ :)
