Home Sweet Home :)
We were able to leave the hospital on New Year's eve which meant we could welcome the New Year in with our daughter at home!! Although we had to go back to the hospital the following morning for them to run a jaundice test to make sure it hadn't gone up any more. However, Dr. Cutrell told us a way we could help possibly prevent ending back up in the hospital because of it. So the first night at home was alot of work for Drew between me not being to get up and down and Kate adjusting to being home he didn't get much rest, but being the wonderful husband and daddy he is all he kept saying was this is quality time with his daughter and wife. We went that following morning back to the hospital for that jaundice test and praise the Lord it had only gone up one point which wasn't enough for us to have to stay so we were homeward bound for sure! My brother, sister-n-law, and nephew came to help us at home when Drew went back to work, which was a tremendous blessing! As the nights pass being at home it gets easier and we are adjusting to getting sleep in about 3 hr increments, haha. I wouldn't change it for a single thing. We went for a checkup to Dr. Cutrell's on 1/5/2011. It went very well and he encouraged us to keep doing what we were doing because she was not losing weight as a matter of fact had maintained what she weighed when we left the hospital. It was very encouraging for me to hear that! On 1/7/2011 we went to get her 1 week pictures taken. It was so much fun and she did such a good job and we can't wait to see them! Kate is an amazing blessing and everything we have prayed for. We realize that more and more as each day passes. She is so content. There is no doubt about it that she looks like her daddy! It is crazy to see just how much she has already changed in the time we have had her. I love being a mommy and it is already passing so quickly! We continually pray for her and what the Lord has in store for her. She definitely is a special little girl and the Lord is going to use her for mighty things. We thank the Lord for her ALL the time! Alright a few more pictures posted and when we get her newborn pictures they will be posted as well.
Blessings~
Hospital Experience
Our time at the hospital was a great experience all around. We had an awesome team of doctors and nurses that took very good care of us! For those of you who did not know I ended up having a cesarean because miss Kate was breech. The Lord was in it all because I did not have to experience labor pains at all and she was here in like 20 minutes! It was a crazy morning though because when we woke up to go to the hospital Drew had been sick the night before. So as I am finding out the news that I was going to have to have a c-section poor Drew was sound asleep with a mask on his face in a chair in the delivery room. I really had no time to think about it and I knew that was what had to happen for her and I to both be safe at this point. I am so thankful the doctor decided to do an ultrasound before he broke my water. God was watching out for us there is no doubt about it! Thankfully, the Lord gave Drew enough energy to go into the operating room so we could find out together what our "Little" surprise was. It was such a fast surgery that it all happened in less that 15 or 20 minutes. It was the neatest experience ever to hear her cry as she entered into the world. Dr. Cutrell brought her around to us so we then found out we were having a girl. It was an emotional time, tears of joy that cannot be explained! At that point they took her to clean her, check her vitals, and weigh her. It was so awesome because Drew got to follow her with video camera and got it all on video for me to see those things. Also he was able to record him telling everyone we had a little red-headed GIRL! Thank you for all those who were praying for us! We had many visitors that came to see us and meet Kate! There are pictures of some people on here that came by. Thank you to all of those who stopped by to see us and thank you for the wonderful gifts that we received for our new little girl!
