Whew, time is flying! We are having so much fun. Over the past month Kate has grown so much... We got to visit my brother and some friends in McKinney at the very end of June. We had so much fun and I am so glad that he got to see her but we did miss seeing Maria and the kiddos too. She had her first 4th of July. I wasn't to sure how she would do with the fireworks but she loved them! I was very surprised because she doesn't like loud noises but as long as I was holding her and she could see that I was ok with them she was too. Kate has really started noticing family and just new places. If she isn't to sure about them as long as I have her she is ok.
We went on our first girl's only trip, haha. It was to a women's retreat in Ft. Worth. We had fun but two nights away was kinda of hard, however she was certainly a trooper for sure! I did learn that on that trip she has a fear of elevators and will not ride in a stroller in one. She did well with lots of different people and I figured she would because she is very social :) and comes by it honestly. Once we arrived back at home she was more than excited to see her daddy. It was neat for both of us to see that because it was her first time to truly realize he wasn't around.
Around the 18th of July she got to meet her great Aunt LaNell and Uncle Harold at my parent's. She did well with them and I was so glad they got to meet her.
There has been so much going on and such spiritual warfare in our household. Over the past month Drew has been sick. After a week of his sickness he went to the doctor. It was then we found out he had a parasite infection. I am so glad he went so he could get some medicine to take care of this. So far over the past 3 weeks he has lost 30lbs and has taken like 6 antibiotics, prescription cough syrup, and an inhaler. But I am thankful for them because he has definitely improved but still has some to go. This past week I rolled my left ankle. Let me just say I am so thankful my parent's had a boot for me to wear because crutches and a baby...well, yeah...you know how that would go : / I am healing rather quickly but I am trying to be extra cautious. Whatever we are doing we will definitely keep it up because evidently the enemy DOES NOT like it! But it has been a sweet month for both of us with the Lord!
Now back to Kate...:) She is rolling over finally but only from her tummy to her back. She could easily roll from her back to her tummy but she gets on her side and changes her mind every time. She is also beginning to pull her knees up under her some and hold herself up with her hands but not at the same time though. She is also scooting on her back with her little strong legs by just kicking. I can put her in the middle of her bed and before you know it she is clear at the top and can't move anymore. I do think she will be crawling before way to long!
We have started doing fruits like melons, apples, and banana pieces that I have been feeding her. She really likes them and she is starting to grasp her food and feed herself. This girl loves to eat! We are now to 3 meals a day plus atleast 1 snack if not 2 inbetween meals and that is on top of still nursing about 5 times a day.
She is definitely full of personality and we have so much fun together. She is really laughing at alot of things we do with her now. She loves patty cake and this little piggy so much that when you start them she knows what is coming. She also really likes her toys now. She has a couple of favorites but anything especially those that makes noise. I can't wait for fall to come around only for the fact that we can go outside. Right now it is just too hot and she is so fair complected but she sure does love it outside.
It is so funny how life changes when you have kids. First of all, you wonder what you ever did before them?! Secondly, I can't get over how excited we are when she does something new and last but certainly not least...I cannot believe how much we love her. It makes me wonder how is it possible to share that love with more kids. It will be neat to feel it all over again when it comes time for that.
We are blessed and even what we imagined is not as awesome as Kate is. God is so good and to think that He is Love means something entirely new to me now that we have her!
Well I do believe that is it for July but we go to the doctor again on the 10th of this month. We will find out how much we are weighing and growing then! I know she has grown a ton because she is pretty much just wearing 12 month clothes now...so crazy! Also I tried to remember to take lots of pictures and even have a few new videos for ya :) enjoy!
Blessings!
