Just shy of 4 months...

At the Sulsar Crawfish boil
daddy & Kate
Wow, what a month?! So many things have happened and she is growing sooo fast!! Let's see, Kate is now laughing and squealing in delight mainly at her mommy, but really starting to do it with everyone! She is such a doll and I am having SO much fun being able to stay at home with her and watching her grow. She is really starting to teeth now. It has caused tons of drool and some really spastic chomping movements, which are really funny. We went to the doctor a week ago and she is weighing 12lbs 13oz and is about 24 inches long now.  The doctor said she was a little early on her verbal skills. My reply was well look at her parents, :)...we both like to talk!  We also had to get her first round of shots and let me just say, NOT FUN! She was so upset that she was screaming and shaking. I didn't tear up until I talked to Drew about it, so sad. :(

Anyway, she is really grabbing onto things now and the first thing that she tries to do is put it in her mouth. I can see dimly what ours future holds...cleaning the floors EVERY day. : / She is really starting to get a routine now. She wakes up anywhere from 8 to 9am takes a nap about 11:30 or so and then again about 4. She goes to bed around 8:30 in the evening. I know we are truly blessed with a wonderful little girl and no our next is NOT going to be the polar opposite, haha...that seems to be what everyone says when I say she is wonderful!
I got her a pair of sunglasses and she loves them. However, she is so fair complected and her eyes are light so that sun is really bright and she needs them so that probably has a little to do with it. Also we have tried rice cereal several times and she seems to do ok with it but I think I will just hold off a little while longer before I start her on anything. She is just so content with the way things are right now and sleeps so well, why mess that up?! It will only be about another 6 to 8 weeks before she actually starts eating baby food. anyway :( I can't believe time is passing SO fast!

She loves to be outside. We will go outside in the backyard so she can swing and as long as she has a hat and sunglasses we are good for a while! I think some of my favorites times are getting her up after she wakes up either in the morning or from a nap because she is ALL smiles and talking! She is just little miss social that is for sure. I love to just watch her and I am reminded all the time how awesome the Lord is!

Well as of now we are going to visit her new little cousin Jessica the first week of May. I am so excited about seeing them and going on our first family vacation as the 3 of us.

That is about it for now...I added a youtube bar to my blog so you can watch the videos I upload of Miss Kate and you can watch her grow too! Let me know if you are having problems viewing them.
Well she is up from her nap that is it for now...

Blessings~ :)

3 months and tons of fun!!

Hello people! It has been a wonderful month with my little girl! She is growing so fast and is doing so many things now. She is now weighing in at a whopping 11lbs and is a little over 23 inches long! The dr says she is a happy and healthy baby. Alot has happened over the past month. She is noticing her toys and it is so much fun to lay her under her little mat on the floor because she just starts talking and grabbing those little toys that is connected to it. She loves for me to sing to her and she will coo right along with me. It is so adorable! We also put together her highchair for the kitchen. She will sit in it and watch me while I am in the there cooking. This little girl MUST have her social time wonder who she gets that from?! ;) She loves for people to talk to her and she will generally greet you with a smile. Along with the smile comes LOTS of drool because she has already started teething which the doctor said she wouldn't start to cut teeth until she is atleast 4 months but teething starts at 2 months.
We had our first out of town trip on Wednesday the16th to Longview, TX to visit some of Drew's family. She did amazing. She slept the entire way there and was so good while we were there and then slept all the way home. We had a fun time with everyone there and Kate got to meet her new little cousin Alexandria.

Also this week has been spring break for her grandma so we have tried to spend lots of time with her. She took us on Thursday the 17th to get pictures taken at Sears. They turned out very good and can't wait to get them in.
We are enjoying this warm weather. Daddy set up her swing set just in time! She loves to swing in her little swing, she just loves being outside. She still isn't quite laughing yet other than in her sleep but I know it will be soon. She gets so excited sometimes and looks like her smile is going to turn into a laugh but not quite yet. I can't get over how fast babies grow out of their clothes?! We are about to go through her clothes again to get rid of 0-3 months and move in the 3-6 months. I just can't believe it?! We however are very excited about passing them along to another new little cousin baby Jessica! She arrived into this world yesterday at around 3pm. She weighed 6lbs 13oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. We can't wait to go visit hopefully by the end of April we will be ready to make the trip :) Congratulations to my brother and sister-n-law..and the proud big brother Lendon!
Each day is passing so fast and I am cherishing every moment I have with Kate. Her daddy and I still cannot believe it is possible to love someone this much and everyone keeps telling us that love continues to grow. It is just so hard to believe we could love her anymore than we already do. It truly is an amazing example of Christ's love for us!
Alright now for what everyone really wants...PICTURES!! I hope you guys enjoy :)

2 months and counting...

Well it has been about a month since I have been on here to update you guys but Kate is now 9 weeks old. It is so crazy how fast time is passing. Let's see what all has happened over the past month?
First Sunday to go to church!

We have been attending church on Sunday mornings and evenings and she does wonderful! It is so much fun being able to take her out. We go on walks at least 3 times a week if the weather permits. I am really enjoying this wonderful weather!
It is also official I am now jobless...I get to stay at home with my beautiful baby girl! This has been something I have wanted since I was young. My heart desires to spend all the time I can with my kids so I can raise them and train them in His word. We have an amazing God because He worked it out so I would be able to. I know I am so blessed because I know there are many more moms that would love to stay home but aren't as fortunate.

It has now been over a year since we have been to Israel. I would have never thought we would have had a baby now if you would have asked me this time last year but the Lord is so awesome and has His plan for our lives. Now we wonder what we ever did without her?! She definitely keeps us busy but it is amazing. I love watching her grow everyday. She is really talking all the time now. When she notices no one is talking to her she gets really loud for a few minutes and if no one comes to talk to her she will let you know. She is definitely going to be a talker..I didn't see that one coming ;)lol. Also her cry is no longer the sound of a newborn, haha, it is very loud :). Another thing we are discovering as more of her personality comes out is that as she gets sleepy she loves to play with her hair. Imagine that she loves the hair dyer and loves to play with her hair...I knew she took after me somewhere?!

The last weekend of February we had the chance to see my oldest brother, sister-in-law, and nephews. I am so glad they were able to come down and see their new nieces. My sister-n-law's brother also had a little girl named Rozlyn that was born exactly a month before Kate. We had a surprise party for my brother over the weekend and Kate and Rozlyn got to meet :). Dylan couldn't get over how tiny Kate was and let me say she loved to talk to Paula, my sister-in-law. You can't help but to smile as she smiles at you because she just glows! Her little eyes just light up and it is SO precious!

Wow, 6weeks already!

It has been a little while since I have posted anything. Let's see where to start...It is crazy how I have tried to stay away from people and places and yet the flu managed to make it in our house and forcing me and miss Kate out of the house and away from my husband:(.  Drew got sick Wednesday night and it caused me to sleep in the guest bedroom and Kate in her own bedroom. That night I didn't get much rest between him being sick and it being her first time to sleep in her own room. It was a good time for her to begin staying in her own room though. Kate did awesome and mom just woke up tired, haha! However, Drew just continued to feel worse and was beginning to run a fever. It was then after taking care of her all day and all night I realized just how much he does with Kate. So we decided for me and Kate to leave and go to my parent's until he got well. So we wouldn't take any chances with me or her catching it and so I would have an extra hand. So on Thursday we left and headed to Oklahoma. The plan was that if he was't feeling better I would just stay the night. Well between him and the weather I ended up staying 3 nights and not coming home until Sunday. I wasn't packed for that but thankfully my parent's took good care of us! We enjoyed our time there and they got to know Kate on a more regular basis, haha. My mom kept saying she is being so good and I told her this is the way she is all the time...mom said "you don't know how blessed you are?!" I know we are tremendously blessed with her and I am SO thankful for that!

Well when we came back Sunday we went to Drew's parents for the afternoon because that is generally what we do on Sundays. Drew still wasn't 100% but he wasn't contagious anymore. We were both so ready to see him! They say "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and I definitely believe it!
On Monday night we decided to let Kate try eating from a bottle to see how she would do. So I thawed some milk we had in the freezer for her and gave it to her. We started out with 2oz but she was still going and ended up eating a total of 3oz. She did amazing and you wouldn't have even known that we did anything different at all?! I went back to feeding her the last time for that night and it didn't phase her a bit. That is definitely an answer to prayer. I just want to be prepared that if we are out and about or if I am away longer than her normal feeding times then she will have something that her daddy can feed her with.

Daddy giving Kate her 1st bottle

In the meant time, Kate has also been smiling and cooing so much and it is a blast watching her! The morning time are always the most fun because that is when she is just ALL smiles! She is really trying to talk to us in her own way. It is crazy how much she is growing and changing each day. I am always looking for something new that she is doing. She is now 6weeks old today and it is crazy that it has gone by so fast. We are planning on attending church for the first time this coming Sunday as long as the weather permits it. I am pretty sure it is suppose to be sunny and around 60 degrees so it is looking  good for us right now.  Just a side note to everyone don't be offended if I have asked you if you have washed your hands...lol, isn't that the famous "new" mom quote?! I just can't be to cautious though and I know most of everyone understands :)

Kate sleeping-tape still on her ears
Oh yes and I almost forgot but the tape is now off of her ears!  She looked like a brand new baby to me once it came off. For those of you wanting to know the tape was on her ears because she was squashed inside me. So Dr. Cutrell just wanted to do a little reshaping...and they look beautiful!!
Kate laughing at daddy in the morning

I am looking forward to all the new things coming up in our life. We are going to have so much fun doing things as a family. I am also looking forward to spending time with lots of other moms and my friends. Well that is about all I can think of at this moment so until next time...

Blessings~
